How to estimate initial RSSI strength for shop boundary?

Modified on Thu, 17 Aug, 2017 at 9:36 AM

Tapway has proprietary algorithms for estimating initial RSSI strength. By default, a RSSI strength of -65 is chosen as baseline (for store size of ~2000 sf).

Typically, RSSI (signal strength) drops significantly when passing through concrete walls and glass and any solid structure, thus the store boundary may be estimated rather effectively.

Over the course of next 3 weeks upon first deployment, our machine learning algorithms learn from all mobile signals detected and slowly finetune RSSI strength based on a few learning sets, such as store operating hours and mobile signal distribution patterns.

If RSSI strength remains inaccurate and needs to be tuned, Tapway support team can help out on manual tuning.
